Scholarship Dates & Deadlines


REDFIN SCHOLARSHIP: Redfin is a real estate brokerage offering $2,500 to help one student on his or her journey through higher education.  The scholarship is offered twice yearly with awards delegated both Spring and Fall.  You must be 18 years of age, have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.  You must answer a question in 300-500 words.  Please go online to: www.redfin.com/resources/scholarhsip for the question and more informationDeadline is January 31, 2018


PACIFIC GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY:  is offering more than 200 scholarships to all college-bound student living within the PG & E service area.  There are more than 200 scholarships available ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.  Go to the website www.pge.com/about/community/scholarships look through the list and apply to any or all. Deadline is February 5, 2018


 NATIONAL CO-OP SCHOLARSHIP PROGARMWACE is the largest independently sponsored merit co-op scholarship program in the United States.  160 Merit scholarships totaling $4.2 million will be awarded.  To qualify you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better and apply to one of the (9) WACE Partner Institutions.  Please see the Counseling Office or go on line at www.waceinc.org for a list of colleges and the application.  Deadline is February 15, 2018


E QUALITY SCHOLARSHP COLLABORATIVE: Awards scholarships to recognize service to the LGBT community.  They are expected to award 16 or more $6,000 scholarships.  You must be a resident of northern or central California and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution (college, university, or vocational/trade school).  Please go on line to www.equalityscholarship.org for the application.  Deadline is February 1, 2018.


ITALIAN CATHOLIC FEDERATION SCHOLARSHIPThis application is now available on line at www.icf.org.  This is a $400 scholarship, if you are a winner you are eligible for second, third, and fourth year awards of $500, $600 and $1,000 respectively.  To be eligible you must have at least a 3.2 GPA and meet all of the requirements in either #1 or #2:  1) you are Roman Catholic and of Italian Descent and live within the Roman Catholic Diocese of California. 2) if either Roman Catholic parent, guardian or grandparent is a member of the Italian Catholic Federation the student must be Roman Catholic but need not be of Italian Descent or live where the Federation is established – membership of a Roman Catholic parent, guardian or grandparent is mandatory for #2.  A personal letter of approximately 150 words explaining applicant’s Italian origin is required.  Please visit the site for an application.  Deadline is March 15, 2018


CALIFORNIA WINE GRAPE GROWERS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP:  This scholarship is now available in the Counseling Office or on line at www.cawgfoundation.org.  They are offering two-four year scholarships worth $8,000 and four two-year scholarships worth $2,000 for graduating seniors.  To be considered, the student must be a child of workers employed by winegrape growers.  To apply you need to fill out the application, submit a transcript and test scores and provide a letter of recommendation along with a 500 word essay.  Deadline is March 26, 2018


BLUE DIAMOND GROWERS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPThis scholarship is open to students living in the almond-producing regions of California who plan to pursue a four year degree in Agriculture.  Candidates must have a 3.3 or higher GPA.  An application plus two letters of recommendation from non-relatives, (one must come from a person outside the teaching profession) is required.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office or you may download an application at www.bluediamond.com  Deadline is March 31, 2018


B. DAVIS SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is open to all Junior and Senior high school students.  The amount of the scholarship is $1,000.  This is not an academic scholarship, but they would like to know what your future plans are.  To apply you must write an essay of less than 1000 words on the following topic:  Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most.  Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual.  The application and more information can be found at www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarships.htm   Deadline is May 22, 2018


BIGSUN SCHOLARSHIPThis scholarship is being offered to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits.  This $500.00 scholarship is open to all student athletes regardless of the sport they are engaged in.  An essay of 500 – 1000 words is required.  Please visit the website at www.bigsunathetic.com for the topic of the essay and more informationDeadline is June 19, 2018


AES ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP:  This $500.00 scholarship is available to high school seniors and is based on student’s character.  You do not need to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.  An essay of 500 to 1000 words is required.  Go to the website www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm for the application and essay question.  Deadline is October 6, 2018
