Interested in earning volunteer hours? Senior Physical Project idea: Hand-in-Hand is looking for Juniors or Seniors with reliable transportation to volunteer 1 to 2 days a week. Hours will vary. You will be responsible for working with children aged 5-13 years old with a focus on gardening and healthy living. ATTENTION ALL SENIORS – Through the College Readiness Grant, ONE SAT TEST OR ONE ACT TEST will be paid by CHS for 12th grade students only. Sign up now for the October 7th Test date (SAT - Deadline September 8th) or October 28th Test date (ACT – Deadline September 22nd ). Seniors taking the test for the first time should take the SAT or ACT before December.

The 2017 – 2018 school year is quickly approaching.  Students can pick up schedules on Monday, August 7th in the CHS front office starting at 10:00am.  Any schedule changes must be completed prior to the first day of school (Wednesday, August 16th). 

 

Classes will fill up quickly, so please take advantage of the opportunities below.  If students/families are out of town during the dates below, feel free to call Colusa High School at 458-2156 extension 14506 to schedule an appointment.

 

The dates below are only for student who have LESS THAN 7 CLASSES.  Students need to sign-up for an appointment with the counseling office by calling or stopping by the office.

*Seniors – August 8th – 10am to 12pm or 1pm to 3pm

*Juniors – August 9th – 9am to 12pm

* Sophomores – August 9th 1pm to 3pm

 

10th – 12th Grade Students with FULL SCHEDULES WISHING to make a change may sign-up with the counseling office August 10th 9am to 12pm or 1pm to 3pm.

The Woodland Community College (WCC) Assessment test will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 9:05 a.m., in the CHS library. This is for seniors only.  You must have applied to WCC or Yuba College and have your student ID# from WCC or Yuba to take the Assessment test.  Please sign-up on the WCC form on the counter in the Counseling Office.  If you need assistance or have any questions, please see Mrs. Seaver ASAP.  Thank you.

CAREERS BEGIN HERE. Job Corps presentation in the Career Center 4th period on Tuesday, April 11th.  What you need to know: Job Corps is tuition-free to income-eligible young men and women, Job Corps is open to ages 16 through 24, Job Corps offers hands-on training in high-demand industries like health care, information technology, advanced manufacturing, and many more. Training programs take approximately 8 to 15 months to complete. Students must sign up in the counseling office and have teacher permission to attend.

 Although AP Testing will be the first 2 weeks in May, AP Tests must be ordered and paid for by March 1st. Each AP Test will cost $84.00. If you are eligible for a waiver, the cost of each AP Test is $53.00. Proof of eligibility must be presented to Ms. Tanner in the Counseling Office. If you do not have this proof, Ms. Tanner will have confidential eligibility letters in a sealed envelope for you to open and use if necessary. Checks should be made out to Colusa High School.

February 2nd is the deadline to pay for FBLA Sections AND turn in your THREE FORMS – Permission slip, Code of Conduct, and Medical Treatment Authorization. All of the forms need to be signed by you and your parents.

 

FBLA SECTIONS – Don’t forget you MUST have SCHOOL ID to compete. Casual attire – (FBLA T-Shirt and Khakis) on the bus. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL All day Saturday.
