The Colusa High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America is hosting a supply drive for those affected by the recent fires in California. Please drop off any of the following items at the nearest drop box. Drop box locations include: the CHS Front Office Ms. Michalk’s room, Mrs. Summerville’s room, and Mr. Giffin’s room. The previously listed teachers are also giving extra-credit to students who contribute to the drive, as are Ms. Robertson and Mr. Badaluco.

All students who have a Student Teaching, Senior Prep, Reduced Day, Teacher Intern, or Work Experience course you must report to the Counseling Office during that period to receive your paperwork.  August 20th is the first day you are eligible to leave campus .  You may not leave campus until your paperwork is returned and approved.

The Counseling Office needs your help!  We are missing several Chromebooks from our Counseling Office COW.  The books are labeled CH COUNS # and we are missing 3, 7, 10.  With many end of year assignments and assessments due, we need all of our Chromebooks.  Please check COW’s to see if you may have one of ours. Students will not be allowed to check Chromebooks out of the Counseling Office until further notice.

Starting in Fall 2018 this program will pay for tuition and fees for new, first-time, full-time Butte College students for up to two semesters. Did you complete a FAFSA or CA Dream Act application? Are you a California Resident or AB540 eligible? Will you enroll in and complete 12 or more units with at least a 2.0 GPA per term? IF YES – this is for you. Books are not covered at this time. This scholarship will cover tuition and fees that are LEFT OVER after students have completed financial aid. Students who begin in Spring 2019 will receive the scholarship for one semester only.

Thursday, March 22, 2018 Woodland Community College-WCC will be at CHS periods 1-4 and during lunch in the career center rm. 502.  They will be assisting students with signing up for the WCC Jumpstart program and answer any questions they may have regarding WCC and their programs; CTE, certificates and transfer track. This program is for seniors only, please sign-up in the counseling office.

SENIORS who will be taking the Butte College Assessment test on Tuesday, March 27 can start to review the study guides by going to the Butte College website: www.butte.edu/assessment/.  Remember, you must have applied to Butte College, have your Butte College ID#, and a photo ID to take the assessment test. Interested in earning volunteer hours? Senior Physical Project idea: Hand-in-Hand is looking for Juniors or Seniors with reliable transportation to volunteer 1 to 2 days a week. Hours will vary. You will be responsible for working with children aged 5-13 years old with a focus on gardening and healthy living.
