November 15, 2018

 

After consulting with the Colusa County Office of Education, Colusa Unified School District will be closed tomorrow, Friday, November 16, and next Monday and Tuesday as well.  Due to the ongoing unhealthy air quality and a forecast which indicates no significant improvement in the near term, we think this is the best course of action to keep all of our students and staff safe and healthy. This decision was made after careful consideration regarding the needs of all students. School is scheduled to resume on Monday, November 26, 2018. The After School Program will run today as usual.

 

The closure will be effective after school today. All activities, including meetings and sports practices, are cancelled for the remainder of the week. The November regularly scheduled board meeting will be rescheduled and there will be a special board meeting held on November 26th at 5:15pm in lieu of the regularly scheduled meeting.

Después de consultar con la Oficina de Educación del Condado de Colusa, el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Colusa estará cerrado mañana, Viernes (Nov. 16), y también el próximo lunes y martes. Debido a la continua calidad de aire poco saludable y un pronóstico que no indica una mejoría significativa a corto plazo, creemos que este es el mejor curso de acción para mantener a todos nuestros estudiantes y personal seguros y saludables. Esta decisión se tomó después de una cuidadosa consideración con respecto a las necesidades de todos los estudiantes. El inicio de clases está programado para el lunes 26 de noviembre de 2018. El programa después de escuela esta en horaio regular hoy.

 

El cierre será efectivo después de la escuela hoy.  Todas las actividades, incluidas las reuniones y las prácticas deportivas, se cancelan por el resto de la semana.  La reunión de la Mesa Directiva programada regularmente en noviembre será reprogramada y habrá una reunión especial de la Mesa Directiva el 26 de noviembre a las 5:35 p.m. en lugar de la reunión programada regularmente.

The Colusa High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America is hosting a supply drive for those affected by the recent fires in California. Please drop off any of the following items at the nearest drop box. Drop box locations include: the CHS Front Office Ms. Michalk’s room, Mrs. Summerville’s room, and Mr. Giffin’s room. The previously listed teachers are also giving extra-credit to students who contribute to the drive, as are Ms. Robertson and Mr. Badaluco.

The Counseling Office needs your help!  We are missing several Chromebooks from our Counseling Office COW.  The books are labeled CH COUNS # and we are missing 3, 7, 10.  With many end of year assignments and assessments due, we need all of our Chromebooks.  Please check COW’s to see if you may have one of ours. Starting in Fall 2018 this program will pay for tuition and fees for new, first-time, full-time Butte College students for up to two semesters. Did you complete a FAFSA or CA Dream Act application? Are you a California Resident or AB540 eligible? Will you enroll in and complete 12 or more units with at least a 2.0 GPA per term? IF YES – this is for you. Books are not covered at this time. This scholarship will cover tuition and fees that are LEFT OVER after students have completed financial aid. Students who begin in Spring 2019 will receive the scholarship for one semester only.

Thursday, March 22, 2018 Woodland Community College-WCC will be at CHS periods 1-4 and during lunch in the career center rm. 502.  They will be assisting students with signing up for the WCC Jumpstart program and answer any questions they may have regarding WCC and their programs; CTE, certificates and transfer track.
